Natural Ways to Reduce Wrinkles
Getting wrinkles on the face and other body parts, especially the neck, hands, and forearm, is a natural aging process. But wrinkles are more prominent in few people as compared to others. The reason could be genetic, skin type, or unhealthy habits that increase wrinkles on the face and other parts of the body.
It is possible to prevent or even
treat wrinkles that are formed due to carelessness or unhealthy habits by
following a healthy lifestyle and natural products. Numerous studies have proved
the effectiveness of these natural substances for the prevention and elimination of
wrinkles on all body parts including sensitive areas like the face, below eyelids, etc.
Avoid sunlight (UV rays)
The effect of ultraviolet rays on skin is well-known. It can cause skin cancer and several other problems especially in people with light-colored skin. One of these negative impacts is the development of wrinkles on sun-exposed parts of the skin. The best way to prevent and also reduce wrinkles is to avoid high exposure to UV rays from sun. UV rays are most numerous and strong from midday to early evening, especially during summer season.
You can protect your skin
from these dangerous rays by wearing wide-brimmed hat (for protection of face and
neck), wide sunglasses (for protection of eyes and its surrounding skin), and broad-spectrum
sunscreen on exposed skin. It is also necessary to avoid tanning beds because
they pose the same risk and can cause wrinkles and other dangerous skin
problems.
Avoid smoking
Smoking is
not only injurious to cardiovascular health but it also has several other
health complications. Studies have proved that smoking can cause immature
wrinkles in both male and female. A study on more than 1,100 participants of
both genders aged between 30 and 69 years proved that smoking considerably
increases risks of wrinkles on face in both male and females. Therefore,
avoiding smoking is important to prevent and reduce wrinkles on face naturally
in both men and women. [1]
Take good sleep
Taking a healthy sleep has several benefits and its deprivation causes many physical and mental abnormalities. Now it has been proved that not taking necessary sleep causes skin problems that also include wrinkles on the face. A small study shows that sleep deprivation can result in several problems related to skin, eyes, and mouth.
These include wrinkles, drooping corners around the mouth, dark circles around eyes, etc. It clearly means that not getting enough sleep for longer time can result in more wrinkles on face along with other skin complications. Therefore, a simple natural way to avoid or reduce wrinkles on the face is by getting complete sleep. You can get rid of insomnia and other sleep problems naturally. [2]
Eat healthy diet
Diet also plays important role in prevention, delay and reduction of wrinkles and other aging effects on skin. Dietary elements that have been proved to be effective against wrinkles and other skin aging process include water, collagen peptide (a protein resent in animal food), polyphenol (present in many plant foods), polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6), Vitamins (A, B, C, D, E and coenzyme-Q), dietary minerals (zinc, iron, copper, and selenium) and probiotics. All these nutrients are present in variety of foods. Eating healthy amount of animals and plant foods regularly can successfully prevent and improve wrinkles and other aging effects on skin. [3]
